The overall object is to familiarize participants with the with the requirements of the OSHA Process Safety Management Standard & the EU Seveso Directive & to introduce them to the approaches & techniques that would be required to meet these standards.
Course Objectives:
On completion of the program, attendees will:
- Understand the range of process hazards addressed by relevant standards
- Have a knowledge of the requirements of the following standards:
- OSHA Process Safety Management Standard
- EU Seveso II Directive
- US EPA Risk Management Programs
- Be able to participate in techniques of hazard identification & risk evaluation, including:
- Hazard & Operability (HAZOP) Studies
- Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA)
- Fault Tree Analysis
- Event Tree Analysis
- Hazard Indices
- Understanding of the content will be evaluated by means of a written test & a case study project.
Course Content:
On completion of the course participants will be required to identify actions, which they can implement back at their workplace, which involve the lessons learned during the program.
Assessment & Certification
Assessment comprises a multiple choice exam followed by practical assement. Candidates will be awarded Process Safety Management Certificate from National Safety Council which carries 2.6 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) towards advance certificate.
