ASSP-MEC Middle East Chapter

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is an independent nonprofit professional organization with more than 34,000 professional members world- wide. The ASSP’s mission is to foster the technical, scientific, managerial and ethical knowledge, skills and competency of health, safety and environment (HSE) professionals for the protection of people, property and the environment.

The Middle East Chapter (ASSP-MEC) was established in 1982 and has held several conferences and technical meetings in the Gulf region. These events have attracted many international speakers, a variety of exhibitors and a large number of attendees.

The broad range of subjects addressed, the sharing and dissemination of knowledge, and the resulting discussions made previous conferences a recognized success. This encouraged ASSP-MEC to organize its conference, from January 27 – 31, 2019, in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Middle East Chapter was inaugurated on September 15, 1982 in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Currently the Chapter’s territory covers the following Arabian Gulf countries: Saudi Arabia – Bahrain – Qatar – United Arab Emirates and Oman.
