Safety Leadership
Introduction
An effective safety management system (SMS) promotes sound production and operation compliance that protects all teams and all aspects of the business. An effective SMS supports the conditions that keep everyone safe, from senior executives to managers to employees/ visitors/contractors.
When safety management is lacking, the risk is complacency and corner-cutting by the workers and line management, who are more likely to cause or be involved in incidents, with personnel getting hurt, equipment getting damaged, and operations coming to a stop, creating a snowball of negative impacts as well damaging the organization’s reputation.
Safety Leadership is a pivotal concept in organizational management, emphasizing the importance of leadership roles in cultivating and maintaining a strong safety culture within the workplace. It revolves around the commitment of the leadership team to prioritize the well-being and safety of employees, ensuring a harmonious and risk-free work environment. Effective leadership is not just about compliance with safety regulations; it’s about fostering an environment where safety is ingrained in the organizational fabric, and everyone feels responsible for maintaining it.
The 5-day workshop will help leaders navigate modern organizations’ complexities. Participants will delve into aligning their leadership approach with organizational vision, values, and safety management strategy. The workshop blends HSEQ safety management systems with best practice safety leadership – leadership that challenges, encourages, motivates and inspires safe practice.
