Hosam Hashem is Specialized Heavy Lift Engineer who has more than 35 years of experience mainly in heavy lifting specialty. He holds a Bachelor degree in civil engineering and a Master degree in Construction Engineering and Management from KFUPM University. He is holding the position of technical consultant for Lifting operation at Saudi Aramco that focuses on maintaining high safety standards for lifting operations. Hosam played key role in establishing Saudi Aramco guidelines related to lifting & heavy equipment operations. He also was members of ASME B30.5 review committee. He held the position of chairman for lifting engineering chapter in Saudi Council at Saudi Arabia from 2009-2013.

Presentation Abstract:
This presentation will highlight the safety improvements and system enhancements that are performed by Saudi Aramco Heavy Equipment Safety Committee (HESC). This Committee consist of a specialized team from multiple Saudi Aramco organizations who focus on safety reviews and operational enhancements related to heavy equipment operations. The presentation will shed lights on the main structure that govern the HESC as a committee and demonstrate how to capitalize on this specialize team to establish and implement a very effective and practical safety system with the target of improving the heavy equipment safe operations.
