Presentation Abstract:

What people do and how they behave is influenced by a range of factors; organizational, task, and individual factors; together termed as Human Factors (HF). It is important to have an understanding of HF as they influence behavior at work in a way that can affect health and safety. This presentation will provide participants a conceptual understanding of HF along with a practical approach they can adopt to improve human reliability. The emergence of the significance of Human Factors in accident causation is also explained with a focus on how we can integrate into our existing safety management processes to minimize the risk from human error and improve overall performance.
