Mr. Anilkumar Nair – Working as a Compliance Co Ordinator at Saudi Aramco holds a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering. He has also pursued Post Diploma in Industrial Safety and Diploma in Petrochemical Technology. He holds the certification in NEBOSH IGC and NEBOSH PSM. He is also a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 45001 and Certified Energy auditor.
He has an experience of more than 18 years in Hydrocarbon and Petrochemical Industries. He has also work as consultant to Refineries and other hazardous industries for PSM / SMS implementation.
His professional journey embraces of rich experience in operational safety during different phases of life cycle of a plant i.e Conceptual stage, Design stage, Construction, Pre commissioning, commissioning, start ups and shut down.

The paper shall contain various aspects of implementing Process Safety Management (PSM) in hydrocarbon industry, the challenges during implementation stages. PSM is the need of the day for any hydrocarbon industry, how it is implemented and more important sustainability. If proper methodology is adopted during the implementation stage, the results shall be long lasting. The role of leadership shall be most important to drive the entire process. The need of the hour is that each person needs to be accountable for his actions on the ground. The success of the successful implementation of PSM shall be on how an operator at field level understand the hazards and applies himself (his understanding of PSM) to overcome the day to day challenges. Lastly, everyone has the right to be safe.
